Whole Foods is now the first national supermarket chain to restrict its previous offering of seafood under the banner of sustainability. Other chains are making similar moves. But do these well-intended measures really help the environment? The debate is murky, to say the least. Despite obvious setbacks to the fishing industry, it may be a step in the right direction.
